Ebook About
Alexei When Marcus Church brings his brother Claude in to help solve an unusual murder, I’m positive he did it just to disrupt my monotonous life. None of my coworkers in the Vampire Related Crimes unit seem to understand that I want to keep a wall between me and everyone else—especially Claude, who does everything he can to break through it with an annoying smile. After more vampires begin to die, Claude pinpoints the actions of the killers to a group of vampire hunters, leaving us in a race to stop them. When I discover that I have a target on my back, I’m surprised that Claude insists on staying by my side, even when things go from bad to worse. I’m determined to keep him out—I’ve lost enough people in my life—but I can’t stop feeling something every time he breaks through. ClaudeWhen I reunited with my brother, I never imagined it’d throw me right into Alexei Karsynov’s path. He’s short-tempered, stubborn, and dangerously adorable whenever he smiles—he just doesn’t realize it yet. When Marcus asks me to help with a case, it gives me the excuse I need to get closer to Alexei, but what I discover threatens to change everything. Suddenly, I find myself wanting to do anything to protect Alexei and to see him smile, despite his efforts to keep his distance from others. I’m determined to show him that he can’t live in the past when his future is so much brighter. How to Lure a Hunter is a 107k word book that contains: Clothes so bright they could cause retina damage, a ridiculous amount of gifts showered on a reluctant recipient, a cranky Russian with a soft spot he tries to hide, a library full of books that need to be treated with the proper respect, some possibly unhealthy sibling teasing, and a sunshiny 300-year-old vampire with an unexpected protective streak.

Book How to Lure a Hunter (VRC: Vampire Related Crimes Book 3) Review :

3.5 stars really. It took 3 days for me to read this book. After downloading it and attempting to read it I put it down to read 2 other books and taught myself to crochet. No, not joking or exaggerating. This may not seem unusual to some people but for me it is. I've been a fan of Alice winters since forever. The in darkness series, into the mind, dear cassius... Her books were something I looked forward to for MONTHS and when they hit I would snatch and read them in one sitting. "Just my luck" was the beginning of the end apparently, though this was better than that by the end. I still had to force myself to get to there. The plot itself was kind of interesting once I started skimming through. Not getting the backstory of the MC for a good chunk of the book worked really well in the first 2 VRC books. It didn't work here and winters didn't make us wait as long for the backstory. Still, it felt too long and there were too many allusions to what was going on that the reader had no idea about. Still don't know what was up with degray but I don't think I care anymore..We knew karsyn was grumpy and kind of mean from the first two books, and maybe once you get through to the point of actually getting his backstory it makes sense a bit. It even sort of makes sense why Claude would like him in spite of that because karsyn is literally a slightly less powerful version of marcus. Now that I've read this I am 199% certain that "just my luck" was simply cobbled together scenes that didn't make sense in this book. The whole hot/cold teasing meanness thing works for some of her characters but that seems to be becoming her default setting and that's just annoying when it isn't tempered properly. By the 70ish% mark it was balanced decently but it took way too long to get to that point. This was better than the last book that she put out, but nowhere near the level of awesomeness this author used to display. BUT, everyone has bad days and not every book an author puts out is going to be great no matter how fantastic they are. By the end of the book karsyn and Claude were doing pretty well with each other and I could buy into their romance which is good.Bottom line. This book may be a 4 but the fact that I had to literally force myself to read it made it a 1. So... Alice winters is still amazingly talented and if the MC's (both of them) personalities were tweaked slightly I might have been able to enjoy this more. Teasing meanness is okay, just cool it off some, yeah?
This book has the authors trademark humor and great story to go with it. She can expertly mix blood, murder and mayhem with a romance and lots of laughing.I didn't know much Alexei before this book. I knew that he worked with Marcus and that Finn was the first one in a long time to get through his shell. And then Claude came along. Claude with his sunny personality, his flirting and presents and of course his bright, colourful clothes. After getting Alexeis story he absolutely deserves someone like Claude in his life. Someone who is totally devoted to him and who can make him feel and smile again.Loved them together.
